Evening tour to the beach where the sea turtles come to lay their eggs. A unique nature experience you don’t want to miss.
The beach of Braamspunt is approximately 1 to 1,5 hours by boat from Leonsberg in the north of Paramaribo.
Once you are at the beach there is time to take a walk, dip your feet in the water and enjoy the sunset. We will savor a delicious Surinam meal while drinking a glass of rum or a beer.
When the sun is set we will walk along the beach accompanied by the tour guide, to find the sea turtles. All the time keeping the guidelines in mind, not to disturb the animals.
The whole process, for a sea turtle, from getting out of the sea to the beach to nest and return takes about 1.5-2.5 hours.
We will return to Leonsberg at the end of the evening, or even late at night, after having an unforgettable experience.
*For visiting the sea turtles the guidelines of WWF (World Wildlife Fund) are used. This is to prevent that the sea turtles are disturbed while in their natural habitat. The tour guides are trained to follow these guidelines and to explain them to the guests.
